Who I Am

Hi, my name is Marty and I am a passionate and energetic SEO analyst with above-average proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic that has virtually devastated the commercial real estate industry, I have since elected to launch a career in SEO using skills I acquired and honed over the past ten years in overseeing website design, development, and SEO for a business specializing in commercial property condition assessments. During that time, I designed/developed, updated, and overhauled the company's website using proven SEO white-hat strategies for achieving a perfect score in HubSpot's Website Grader in addition to earning high scores in other online tools (Refer to screenshot images under 'Achievements') with a proven track record like Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix that grade a website against key metrics like performance, mobile readiness, SEO, and security. And regardless of what others may have you believe, using a CMS plugin is virtually an exercise in futility in attempting to resolve technical issues of/affecting a website. In reality, this is often easier said than done for the average layperson, business owner or so called SEO expert or specialist who more often than not know little to nothing about the business, product, or service you're trying to rank for much less the target audience for whom they're intended. In so doing, black-hat tactics focus primarily on search engines as opposed to audiences. Needless to say, black-hat seo is deemed unacceptable and in most cases will end up getting your website banned from the SERPs by Google.

  • If and when possible, planning an SEO campaign should begin during the early stages of website design/development to jump start website performance and rankings in the SERPs (search engine result pages) once a website is up and running. With this in mind, unless one and the same party happens to be responsible for website design, development, copy, and SEO, the best SEO is often achieved when website developers, copywriters, and those that manage SEO work together from the get-go.   • If your non-technical SEO happens to be point on but your SEO campaign appears to be sluggish getting nowhere fast, your website may be experiencing technical issues hindering a search engine's ability to crawl and index a website in which event a technical site audit is recommended b4 initializing or continuing with your SEO campaign.

    • Whatever you do, don't make a habit of relying solely on keywords you believe to be used most often by those searching for a product or service you provide. In reality, many continue to make this mistake when beginning keyword research only to find out later on that the keywords they're trying to rank for happen to be altogether different from what most individuals use to search for their products or services. Similar to the 'Undercover Boss' example, for an SEO campaign strategy to be effective, it must first and foremost be based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the business or individual for whom the website is intended.

  • Unfortunately, there's no magic bullet or one size fits all solution to drive traffic to your website. That said, your focus should be on writing quality content to attract and convince first-time customers you provide a much better product or service than what your competition has to offer. For example, it may be to your advantage to promote an inexpensive or free perk—in addition to the service you provide—deemed beneficial to your customers in your line of work. Case in point, you run an auto repair shop and offer customers a loaner car at no cost other than gas as long as they can present proof of insurance.
